Address: Hummelstad

The trail starts from the old school in Hummelstad and is 6.3 km long. The trail will lead you through the countryside and up onto a hill with an impressive view.

You start the hike on a country road which dates back to the 17th century, and then you continue through a varied landscape. Among other things, you will walk past a narrow canal which was completed in the late 19th century and was constructed to reduce the water content of Igelmossen so that the area could be used for agricultural purposes. The walk also offers several great vantage points, e.g. at Uhreberget you have a wonderful view of Lake Kogaren, Hallingsberg’s church and several villages. The end of the trail takes you past large, impressive burial cairns from the Bronze Age. More information about the cairns is available in a leaflet which can be found at the beginning of the trail. You can pick up your copy of the booklet called "Vandra i Västervik" at Västervik Tourist Center for more information and a map of the trails.
